I have the experience, qualifications and diverse skill set necessary to be an effective contributor on Council over the next four years.  My twenty-five years of successful business experience will guide my term to effectively oversee the management of an over sixty million-dollar corporation - The Corporation of the District of Squamish.

In my professional career I have developed a broad based knowledge of both the corporate and small business world.  I am a life-long learner who is committed to continuous growth and development. I am proud of my pursuit of academic upgrades - I embrace every opportunity to expand my skills and knowledge base.

My entrepreneurial experience has provided me a well-rounded knowledge base in all areas of business.  As a licensed property manager I possess valuable insight with respect to management, building, design and maintenance in addition to budgeting and long term capital planning.  Working with local owners, tenants and a variety of businesses and suppliers on a daily basis has allowed me to hone my communication, negotiation and conflict resolution skills as I work with a large contingent of diverse individuals with competing interests.

For many years I have given back to this community that I love by holding volunteer positions on the Board of both Sea to Sky Community Services and the Downtown Business Improvement Association.  I sit on the Youth Triathlon organizing committee.  I am committed to the Big Brothers in school mentor program, which I have participated in for the past eleven years.  I have invested many years coaching Howe Sound Minor Ball and volunteering for Squamish youth soccer.  I was instrumental in successfully obtaining approval for the installation of lights at Hendrickson Field to benefit Squamish sport.

Recognizing the importance of corporate support for a developing community, my company donates regularly to a variety of community initiatives such as the Arts Council, the Squamish Public Library, Sea to Sky Community Services, Dry Grad, Canada Day celebrations and the Squamish Youth Triathlon.

My experience as a business owner coupled with my community involvement has provided me with valuable insight and the confidence to quickly assess difficult issues and reach complex decisions at an executive level.

I value integrity, respect and accountability and commit to listening intently to the citizens of the community I plan to represent.
